Activities Co‑ordinator Opportunity in the UK
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Activities Co‑ordinator to join our team and deliver engaging activities in a care home setting. The role supports residents, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer’s, by improving quality of life through social and recreational programming.
Responsibilities- Plan and lead a variety of recreational activities that match the interests and needs of residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Develop tailored activity plans that enhance mental stimulation, physical movement and social contact.
- Collaborate with care professionals to ensure activities are appropriate to individual residents’ health conditions and abilities.
- Promote participation of all residents, creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Track and assess activity efficacy and make any required adjustments to optimise engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ participation and comments to support ongoing improvement.
- Support the organization of special events or outings that improve residents’ quality of life.
- Communicate effectively with residents, family and staff to meet activity expectations and needs.
- Experience with seniors in assisted living or nursing care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of principles of senior care, dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.
- Strong communication abilities to interact with residents in a compassionate and productive way.
- Genuine desire to improve the lives of elderly individuals with valid caring skills.
- Ability to design programmes of creative activity to meet a variety of needs and abilities.
- Good planning skills, organised and able to multitask.
- Patient and understanding when dealing with people with cognitive decline or special needs; empathetic nature.
