This is an exciting opportunity to join the Therapy Department at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Therapy Clinical Support Worker, working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

You will support patients through assessment, rehabilitation and discharge plans. Some of the areas of work are:

• Completing delegated tasks.
• Gathering information about home circumstances.
• Supporting patients to progress towards their rehabilitation goals including mobility, transfers, activities of daily living including personal care.
• Using and ordering equipment.
• Supporting with group work.

This post is across the Trauma and Elective Wards which includes the Orthopaedic Supported Discharge (OSD) service.

A significant part of the role may involve working with the Orthopaedic Supported Discharge Team, supporting patients within their own homes to facilitate safe and effective recovery following hospital discharge. The OSD caseload includes working with patients with a fractured femur, poly trauma injuries and occasionally those undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery.

This post is based within the specialist Neurorehabilitation Service, supporting patients following a stroke and with other neurological conditions. The team work across inpatient, Community and outpatient settings.

You will work with in an integrated Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team supporting patients based on the inpatient Stroke and Neuro Ward (Staples Ward).

The team provides specialist, evidence-based neurorehabilitation, assessing and supporting patients' physical, cognitive and functional abilities. Rehabilitation includes intensive therapy programmes, ward-based gym activities, specialist rehabilitation equipment and group therapy sessions.

Please note that other teams sit alongside the Acute Inpatient Therapy Service, including:

• Medical Respiratory
• Health of Older people (Medical Rehabilitation)
• Critical care and Surgery.

Vacancies may arise within these teams, and suitable candidates from this recruitment process may be appointed to these roles within three months of the closing date.

An opportunity is available to work in a development post from a Band 2 to a Band 3role, subject to successful completion of the required competencies
