Yard Supervisor

A member of the supervisory team of generic supervisors to deliver overall managerial support and leadership across operational service delivery; reporting direct to the Deputy Waste & Recycling Manager.

This postholder will have day to day responsibility for the organisation of staff/ plant, and equipment and staff within the yard; the deployment of the resources to provide customer focused service delivery for the yard, Toilet Cleansing and Street Sweeping.

To support the delivery of the aims and objectives contained within the Operational Services Service Plan.

To provide supervision and technical support to all refuse, recycling collection, or yard staff, toilet cleaners and street sweeping services staff for the purpose of maximising efficiency and effectiveness; as well as dealing with operational issues which occur throughout the day.

To put the customer at the centre of everything you do.

To source best prices for recyclable material sales via procurement guidelines / organise the transport of materials.

To accurately record material tonnages to be used for waste data flow /and mandatory DEFRA reporting.

To ensure yard operations are carried out in line with our EA permit conditions.

Directly accountable for an individual service delivery section as well as providing support and cover across the entire unit.
