Position: Registered Nurse (Urology)

Registered Nurse (Urology)

As a Band 5 Urology Nurse, you will support a variety of consultant‑led clinics, including flexible cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, bladder instillation for benign and cancer patients, Trial Without Catheter (TWOC), and flow rate clinics. You will also deliver nurse‑led clinics, provide education and support for patients, teach Intermittent Self‑Catheterisation (ISC) and administer bladder instillation treatments.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and person‑centred care throughout their urology pathway.

Responsibilities
  • Support consultant‑led clinics (cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, bladder instillation, TWOC, flow rate).
  • Deliver and lead nurse‑led clinics and education sessions.
  • Teach ISC to patients and administer bladder instillation treatments.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with a genuine interest in urology.
  • Compassionate, approachable, and able to support patients undergoing sensitive procedures.
  • Experience in urology, surgical nursing, or outpatient clinic settings is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in male and female catheterisation is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and focus on patient education and support.
Working Pattern & Contract

18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Permanent part‑time contract.

Salary range: £32,073 to £39,043 per annum pro rata.
