We're looking for a Urology Cancer Nurse Specialist with a minmum of 2 years’ urology / cancer related experience to join our growing team as we redesign care pathways, strengthen nurse-led services and deliver innovative, patient-centred care closer to home.

In this role you’ll further develop your specialist skills, delivering nurse-led care as an autonomous practitioner while working as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team. You'll support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey, making a real difference at every stage.

More detail about the role

This role provides specialist support to patients throughout their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. You will run nurse-led clinics, participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, and arranges diagnostic tests and investigations to support timely, effective care.

A key part of the role is communicating cancer diagnoses and recurrences with sensitivity and compassion, discussing treatment options, and helping patients make informed decisions about their care. You will provide ongoing support to patients and their families, including during disease progression and end-of-life care.

You will coordinate care across services, making referrals to appropriate support networks and managing treatment-related side effects and ongoing patient needs, ensuring patients receive holistic, patient-centred care at every stage of their pathway.

If you do not already hold a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification, we will support you to achieve this early in your role.

You’ll also use research, clinical evidence and emerging best practice to help inform treatment discussions and enhance patient care.

We use the EPIC electronic patient record system, enabling seamless communication across the multidisciplinary team and immediate access to patient records, investigations and results, helping us deliver safe, efficient and coordinated care.

You’ll work closely with our wider cancer services, including the Living With and Beyond Cancer Team, helping patients access the support they need throughout their cancer journey.
