An exciting opportunity to join our Specialist Palliative Care/ End of Life Team (Northern) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist band 7, based in NDDH and working closely with our Eastern colleagues.
You will provide expert, evidence-based assessment, advice and support for patients with palliative and end-of-life care needs, their families and carers.
Working autonomously as a core member of the multidisciplinary team, you will undertake holistic specialist assessment and care planning, contribute to complex clinical decision-making and provide sensitive psychological, social and cultural support. As an expert resource, you will advise and educate colleagues and contribute to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, audit, research and service improvement.
About the Role More detail about the roleYou will be a Registered Nurse with significant experience in palliative medicine. You will have advanced assessment and communication skills, sound clinical judgement and the resilience to work effectively in an emotionally demanding environment.
A relevant degree and advanced communication training are required; non-medical prescribing and a teaching qualification are desirable. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills working with trust staff, primary and tertiary care, including our Integrated care Board (ICB).
Working Pattern:Monday-Friday 9-17:00hrs
