As a Trading Assistant, you will be the special ingredient that ensures our stores are set up brilliantly to give our customers everything they come to Sainsbury’s for.

• The minimum application age for this role is 18, due to the working hours and type of goods (alcohol, etc.) you may be required to handle.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

• Collect stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) to replenish various items across the store, keeping shelves clean, tidy and fully stocked.
• Always ready to serve customers brilliantly when the store is open, supporting with any questions and proactively offering help.
• Check dates on fresh produce and grocery products.
• Assist across the store as needed and support with deliveries when required.
• Build extensive knowledge about our products, services and promotions to provide recommendations.

• Happy working overnight in a fast‑paced, physical and high‑energy environment, often solo but able to thrive in a team.
• Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Takes responsibility for owning tasks and uses initiative to solve problems.
• Always prepared to work flexibly and productively across the store to a high standard; fully trained in a variety of skills, providing opportunities to learn and develop.
• Comfortable learning new digital tools and technology to do the job brilliantly.
• Has great attention to detail, keeping the store clean and clutter‑free, and creating the best shopping experience for customers.

• Night shift premium – additional £2.45 per hour for hours worked between midnight and 5am (where applicable).
