Mobile Vehicle Technician – Barnstaple, RAC

As a Mobile Mechanic in RAC’s Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

• Provide initial diagnosis and repair of light vehicle faults at customer sites.
• Execute routine vehicle maintenance (oil change, filter replacement, brake service, tyre rotation).
• Communicate clearly with customers, advising on vehicle care and representing RAC with pride.
• Manage stock of replacement parts, record work details, and maintain accurate customer windows.
• Use diagnostic tools and tools kit to identify fault codes and perform repairs.
• Adhere to health and safety, data protection and RAC standards.

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years hands‑on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Competitive base salary £38,625, with on‑target earnings up to £50,000 through bonuses and premium‑rate overtime.
• Guaranteed overtime option after first month – extra rest day at £30 per hour.
• Full‑time 40‑hour week, Monday‑Saturday availability, plus 23 days holiday (rising to 25). Bank holidays inclusive.
