My client is the council who are looking to staff their children's homes so they can increase the number of beds on offer to local children in care.
We are looking to hire permanent Therapeutic Support Workers in a residential Learning Disabilities (LD) children's home in Barnstaple. This home supports children and young people with learning disabilities, providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.

If you have experience working in residential children's homes, Learning Disability services, schools or SEN settings, youth work, with young people, in custodial or young offenders' services, or have a degree in psychology, sociology or a relevant subject, this is a great opportunity for you.

Responsibilities of the Therapeutic Support Worker:
- Supporting children and young people with learning disabilities to meet their emotional, physical, developmental, and individual care needs.
- Helping children develop independence, communication, and life skills in line with their individual support plans.
- Display yourself as an appropriate role model.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, empathy, patience, and resilience.
- Encourage positive life experiences and help children achieve their personal goals.
