Trainee Driver

Salary & Hours

Hourly rate during training: £15.14 (after training: £16.49). Annual earnings: £33,441.72 based on 39 hours per week. Shift patterns consist of 4–5 days over a 7‑day period.

• Complete the Level2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship programme, including industry‑leading training and PCV licence acquisition.
• Undertake ongoing CPC training and professional development as part of the apprenticeship.
• Drive bus routes safely, smoothly and with confidence.
• Ensure every customer has a great journey by providing top‑notch customer service.
• Create a welcoming, respectful environment for all passengers, especially those who most rely on the service.
• Work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Hold a UK driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK (minimum 183 days residency where applicable).
• Patient, safe, courteous and comfortable on the road.
• Friendly, positive attitude with a passion for excellent customer service.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

• All training costs covered – free paid training to acquire a PCV licence.
• Level2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship with externally recognised qualification.
