Capstone Community Action is looking for a temporary part time Head Start Infant Teaching Assistant to join our passionate team in our Learning Together Center in Barre VT. As an Infant Toddler Teacher, you’ll help guide children through early developmental milestones, foster creativity and independence, and create a welcoming environment where every child feels seen, safe, and celebrated. Join us in helping families move out of poverty and build brighter futures;

all working in a supportive, flexible, and purpose-filled environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of infant toddler CDA or equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education or Human Services.
  • Experience working with infant, toddler children and their families, understanding parenting issues, adult learning styles, and sensitivity to the needs of low-income families.
  • Excellent communication skills with both young children and adults.
  • Demonstrated competency in engaging in effective, nurturing interactions with children.
  • Ability to facilitate appropriate, child-centered learning experiences.
  • Positive regard for and ability to engage with diverse populations and people with low incomes.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of working with young children in a center-based setting, including regularly lifting 50-60 pounds.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with a team toward shared goals and objectives.
