Position OverviewAssociated Ambulance is currently seeking a qualified Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) to join our team at the Barrhead Station. This permanent full-time position offers a predictable and balanced shift schedule of four days on, followed by four days off. As an ACP with Associated Ambulance, you will be an essential part of our emergency medical response team, providing vital pre-hospital care and life-saving interventions to the community.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient conditions to determine the extent of injury or illness and immediate care requirements.
- Administer pre-hospital emergency medical care, including patient stabilization for ambulance transportation.
- Monitor vital signs, assess blood glucose levels, and perform other diagnostic procedures.
- Execute advanced life support procedures such as intubation and cardiac pacing.
- Work collaboratively with emergency medical personnel, emergency communications officers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Valid ACP Practice Permit – Meets all requirements for EMS practice in Alberta.
- Alberta Class IV Driver’s License – Current and valid.
- Successful F.A.R.E Certification
- Mandatory and Required Training – Up to date on all required certifications, including:
- Medical Communications Protocol (MCP)
- Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC)
- Strong commitment toquality patient care, safety, and professionalism, aligning with Associated Ambulance’s core values.
- Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional healthcare team.
- Ability to remain calm and perform efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations.

This position qualifies for a retention bonus structured as follows:
- 1 Year: $5,000.00
- 2 Years: $12,000.00
- 3 Years: $17,000.00
- August 17-21
- October 5-9
- December 7-11
