• Support Early Childhood Educators in implementing Safari Kid’s age-appropriate learning programs that foster children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Engage children in daily activities such as storytelling, songs, sensory play, arts and crafts, and guided exploration aligned with Safari Kid’s curriculum.
• Assist in preparing learning materials, setting up activity stations, and arranging classrooms to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
• Guide children in developing healthy habits, including proper eating, dressing, hygiene, and toilet routines.
• Prepare and distribute snacks according to centre guidelines and assist with organizing rooms for meal, nap, and rest periods.
• Observe children’s behaviour, progress, and interactions and provide written or verbal notes to Early Childhood Educators or supervisors for record‑keeping and reporting purposes.
• Maintain classroom and play area equipment, ensuring all materials are clean, safe, and in good working condition.
• Assist co‑workers with daily housekeeping tasks, including sanitizing toys, surfaces, and activity areas, as well as supporting light food‑related duties when needed.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss children’s progress, program improvements, and any concerns requiring follow‑up.
• Support the development of positive relationships with children, parents, co‑workers, and community service providers to promote collaborative learning and care.
• Help ensure that the childcare environment meets Safari Kid’s standards for health, safety, and well‑being, following all centre policies and provincial regulations.
