Junior Inspector

Brampton, London, Markham or Barrie, ON

• Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
• Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments for work performed.
• Prepare daily site observation reports and maintain a daily photograph log.
• Assist the Contract Administrator/Senior Inspector in preparing various internal/external reports and other status reports to client.
• Assist the Contract Administrator/Senior Inspector with the review of contractor submissions (critical path schedules, field changes, monthly payment certificates, etc.) for compliance with contractual obligations.
• Confirm the appropriate qualifications and certifications for all contractor employees, resources, and equipment.

• Experience working with MTO projects, and municipalities for grading, paving, underground water main, sanitary and storm sewers, roads, and bridge construction would be an asset.
• Recent graduate from Civil Technician or Technologist Program.
• Registration or ability to register with OACETT as a C.E.T.,
  
  C.Tech., rcji.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of appropriate laws and regulations (environmental, health and safety, etc.).
• Knowledge of design standards, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications/Standard drawings (OPSS/OPSD’s), and methods and materials associated with municipal/highway construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction site.
• Able to work overtime on weekends and nights as required.
• The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with enthusiasm, flexibility, and motivation.

Salary range: $43.7K - $58K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
