Mobile Youth Centre Details
The Mobile Youth Centre (MYC) goal is to increase physical activity within youth in a non-traditional sporting capacity, as well as to provide recreational activities for youth and children that do not have access to traditional facilities or activities. The MYC will also focus on enhancing youth & children’s participation in activities within our community, by being inclusive to all.
Position Details
Working as part of the Sports & Recreation Team and reporting to the Recreation Coordinator. Working in a collaborative and cross-functional environment, you will exemplify excellence in customer services as a Mobile Youth Centre Ambassador and will be responsible for the safety, security, and well-being of children and youth participants at the MYC.
Mobile Youth Centre Ambassadors will be required to setup/takedown the MYC as required (i.e. skate park equipment, games/activities). Ambassadors will ensure that an inclusive, fair play and safe environment is present at all times at the MYC. Ambassadors will also be taking a lead role at the MYC and will be encouraged to develop/implement/interact in games and activities for MYC participants to partake in.

In addition, MYC Ambassadors will assist with the Summer Day Camp as required.
As a MYC Lead you will:
Assist the Summer Coordinator in developing and planning day-to-day MYC activities and schedulesDeveloping and coordinating weekly MYC special eventsAssisting the Summer Coordinator in developing and facilitating the MYC training programCompleting administrative duties as required (i.e. participant sign-in/out, equipment inventory and inspections)Maintaining positive communication between staff, participants and parents/guardiansProviding exemplary leadership to staffDaily site planning and overseeing the MYC location to ensure overall safety and successful operation at each locationProviding input on weekly staff evaluationsMeeting weekly with the Camp Coordinator to discuss MYC objectives and enhancementsSupport and address conflicts with staff and or participantsUsing Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point Job Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Strong conflict resolution skills and leadership skillsExperience in working with children/youth ages 4-16Excellent customer service and leadership skillsHigh Five Principles of Healthy Childhood Development (an asset)Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certificate an assetAt least 16 years of ageValid Social Insurance Number (SIN)Acceptable Vulnerable Sector ScreeningWork in various weather conditions (i.e., rain, cold, heat)Must be available to work exclusively from May to August.Able to work in a flexible unstructured atmosphere.Able to work at various locations throughout the Town of Innisfil (i.e. Stroud, Alcona, Cookstown, Lefroy, and Gilford).Must be able to lift approx. 50lbs with supportTransportation to and from work locationsWhy work with us?
