Intermediate​/Senior Music Teacher Position

Elevate student engagement in music with a role for an Intermediate/Senior Music Teacher at Simcoe County District School Board. Focus on teaching guitar and instrumental skills over three periods this semester.

This position is an LTO assignment and is guided by the principles of inclusion and diversity within a supportive educational environment. Ideal candidates will demonstrate effective instruction and management for music classes while preparing teaching plans and overseeing student progress. Collaboration with the principal and community is also essential to create impactful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach guitar and instrumental music to students

• Prepare and submit detailed teaching plans

• Evaluate and report on student progress

• Assist in maintaining discipline and safety in class

• Cooperate with the principal for program development

Requirements:

• Qualifications in music education

• Experience in guitar or instrumental teaching

• Commitment to diversity and inclusion

• Willingness to complete mandatory training

• Valid reference permissions from prior supervisors
