Responsibilities
Be responsible for effective instruction, training and evaluation of the progress of pupils in the subjects assigned, and manage the class or classes.
Carry out the supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by the principal, and supply required information.
Co‑operate fully with teachers appointed under section 14 or 17 and with the principal in all instruction matters.
Be present in the classroom or teaching area and ensure readiness for pupils at least fifteen minutes before the commencement of morning classes and five minutes before afternoon classes.
Assist the principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.
Prepare teaching plans and outlines as required, and submit them to the principal or supervisory officer on request.
Ensure that all reasonable safety procedures are carried out in courses and activities for which the teacher is responsible.
Co‑operate with the principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices.
Ensure that report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with the provincial guidelines.
Co‑operate and assist in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act.
Participate in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians.
Perform duties as assigned by the principal in relation to co‑operative placements of pupils.
Perform duties normally associated with the graduation of pupils.
Qualifications
Provide permission to contact two professional references, including current and most recent supervisors.
Complete a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check prior to beginning employment.
Complete mandatory training modules before the first day of employment.
Salary
Salary range effective September 1, 2025: $59,128 – $119,974 (pro‑rated if less than full time)
