Contract External – 1.0 GRADE 8 FI, FSL QUALS

• Effective instruction, training and evaluation of pupils in subjects assigned to the teacher and management of class(es), with reporting to the principal on progress of pupils as requested.
• Carrying out supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by the principal and supplying required information.
• Co‑operating fully with teachers and principal on all matters related to pupil instruction.
• Being present in the classroom or teaching area, ensuring readiness at least fifteen minutes before morning classes and five minutes before afternoon classes.
• Assisting the principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.
• Preparing teaching plans and outlines as required by the principal and the appropriate supervisory officer, and submitting them on request.
• Ensuring that all reasonable safety procedures are carried out in courses and activities for which the teacher is responsible.
• Co‑operating with the principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices.
• Ensuring that report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with provincial guidelines.
• Co‑operating and assisting in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act, 1996.
• Participating in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians.
• Performing duties related to co‑operative placements of pupils and duties normally associated with the graduation of pupils.

• Five (5) or more years of permanent contract teaching experience with another board, verifiable through resume and application.
• Eligibility to teach French or Native Sign Language as governed by Article 9.02 of the relevant regulations.
• Submission of two professional references, including current and most recent supervisor.
