Digital Safety Learning Resource Development – Ontario
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) seeks expressions of interest from current OSSTF teachers for two 40‑hour positions on the Digital Safety Learning Resource Development Team. The role involves developing resources to be completed virtually or in‑person at the Education Centre, establishing a foundation for digital safety instruction across elementary and secondary classrooms.
Rate of pay is $51.95 per hour, with 40 hours of development time per position. The contract is completed by August 7, 2026.
Key Competencies- Knowledge of the SCDSB Digital Safety and Citizenship classroom resources, approved third‑party applications, and SCDSB AI guiding documents;
- Knowledge of School Mental Health Resources (Introduction to MHLIT, Wayfinder scope and sequence of Mental Health Literacy);
- Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification;
- Experience vetting resources to support teaching and learning of digital safety, citizenship, and wellness;
- Capacity to design curriculum‑supported lessons and resources for students on developing safe, responsible, and positive digital habits;
- Capacity to collaborate;
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills;
- Knowledge of technology use to develop learning materials; and
- Robust understanding of MOE PPMs, SCDSB policies, and APMs concerning safe and welcoming schools and digital technology; deep research fluency in digital safety; and expertise in the safe and ethical integration of artificial intelligence (AI).
- Engage with evidence‑based materials from reputable Ministry‑approved sources to create lessons and resources establishing a foundation for digital safety instruction across elementary and secondary classrooms;
- Develop a series of classroom‑ready, grade‑appropriate lessons and resources aligned with the Ontario curriculum that promote safe, responsible, and ethical online behaviours related to security, privacy, and digital safety;
- Organize and format lesson plans and instructional resources to ensure accessibility and consistency on the Digital Safety & Citizenship page on the staff website;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator supervising the project.
Ideal candidates possess a diverse portfolio of system and school‑level leadership experience and demonstrate deep research fluency in digital safety.
