Semester 1 LTO - 1 Period Special Education - ASD

• Be responsible for effective instruction, training and evaluation of the progress of pupils in the subjects assigned, and manage the class or classes.
• Carry out the supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by the principal, and supply required information.
• Co‑operate fully with teachers appointed under section 14 or 17 and with the principal in all instruction matters.
• Be present in the classroom or teaching area and ensure readiness for pupils at least fifteen minutes before the commencement of morning classes and five minutes before afternoon classes.
• Assist the principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.
• Prepare teaching plans and outlines as required, and submit them to the principal or supervisory officer on request.
• Ensure that all reasonable safety procedures are carried out in courses and activities for which the teacher is responsible.
• Co‑operate with the principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices.
• Ensure that report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with the provincial guidelines.
• Co‑operate and assist in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act.
• Participate in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians.
• Perform duties as assigned by the principal in relation to co‑operative placements of pupils.
• Perform duties normally associated with the graduation of pupils.

• Provide permission to contact two professional references, including current and most recent supervisors.
• Complete a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check prior to beginning employment.
• Complete mandatory training modules before the first day of employment.

Salary range effective September 1, 2025: $59,128 – $119,974 (pro‑rated if less than full time)
