External - PLANNING TIME

Contract External – 0.3 Planning Time position within the Simcoe County District School Board.

• Provide effective instruction, training and evaluation of the progress of pupils in assigned subjects.
• Manage classroom(s) and maintain an appropriate learning environment.
• Collaborate with the principal in supervising instructional programs and providing required reports.
• Co‑operate with other teachers and the principal in all matters related to pupil instruction.
• Ensure the classroom is ready for pupils at least fifteen minutes before morning classes and five minutes before afternoon classes.
• Support the principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.
• Prepare and submit teaching plans and outlines to the principal or appropriate supervisory officer upon request.
• Implement all reasonable safety procedures in courses and activities.
• Co‑operate with the principal and other teachers to establish consistent disciplinary practices.
• Prepare, complete and process report cards in accordance with provincial guidelines.
• Assist in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act.
• Participate in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians.
• Assist in co‑operative placements of pupils and perform duties related to pupil graduation.

• At least five years of permanent contract teaching experience with another board.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in a French or ND SL environment may be an asset.
