Contract External – 0.5‑FSL, FSL QUALS, J/I
Requirements
- Must self‑identify with one of the four equity‑deserving groups designated under the federal Employment Equity Act or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Must have five or more years of permanent contract teaching experience with another board, verifiable via resume and application.
- A newly hired teacher who accepts a French or NSL position must remain in a French or NSL teaching role for at least five years from hire date (Art. 9.02 (vii)(a)).
- Teachers may apply for additional/non‑French/NSL roles to increase FTE while maintaining a French or NSL position as outlined above (Art. 9.02 (vii)(b)).
Responsibilities
Responsible for effective instruction, training and evaluation of pupils in assigned subjects; manage class(es) and report progress to principal.Carry out supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by principal; provide required information.Co‑operate with teachers appointed under section 14 or 17 and with principal on all matters related to instruction.Ensure classroom readiness at least fifteen minutes before morning classes and five minutes before afternoon classes when applicable.Assist principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.Prepare teaching plans and outlines as required and submit them to principal or appropriate supervisory officer on request.Ensure all reasonable safety procedures are followed in courses and activities.Co‑operate with principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices.Ensure report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with provincial guidelines.Co‑operate and assist in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act.Participate in regular meetings with parents or guardians.Perform duties assigned by principal regarding cooperative placements of pupils.Perform duties normally associated with pupil graduation.Employment Equity Statement
