Position: LTO Special Education Teacher for ASD
Join Simcoe County District School Board as an LTO Special Education Teacher specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This position impacts diverse learners through individualized support and inclusive educational strategies.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic educator for a semester-long assignment involving two periods focused on ASD. You will employ tailored instructional methodologies to enrich the learning experiences for students.

Your role is essential in creating an equitable environment that celebrates diversity, respecting the Ontario Human Rights Code and AODA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods

• Prepare and submit required teaching plans to the principal

• Ensure classroom readiness prior to student arrival

• Collaboratively support students alongside other educators

• Conduct regular meetings with students’ families

Requirements:

• Qualification in special education teaching

• Direct experience with ASD is preferred

• Strong commitment to inclusive practices

• Educational collaboration experience

• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check before commencing
