Position
Contract External – 0.2 FSL, FSL QUALS, J/I.
Key Responsibilities
Effective instruction, training, and evaluation of pupils in the subjects assigned to the teacher.
Management of the class or classes, providing reports to the principal on pupils’ progress.
Carry out supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by the principal, supplying required information.
Co‑operate fully with teachers appointed under section 14 or 17 and with the principal in all matters related to pupil instruction.
Be present in the classroom and ensure it is ready for pupils at least fifteen minutes before the start of classes in the morning and five minutes before in the afternoon.
Assist the principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.
Prepare teaching plans and outlines as required, and submit them on request.
Ensure all reasonable safety procedures are carried out in courses and activities for which the teacher is responsible.
Co‑operate with the principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices.
Ensure that report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with provincial guidelines.
Co‑operate and assist in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act, 1996.
Participate in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians.
Perform duties related to cooperative placements of pupils, as assigned by the principal.
Perform duties normally associated with the graduation of pupils.
Application Requirements
Answer whether you self‑identify with one of the four equity‑deserving groups designated under the federal law, or any protected ground under the provincial law.
Explain whether you have five or more years of permanent contract teaching experience with another board, confirmable through your resume and application.
Provide permission to contact two professional references, including current and most recent supervisors.
Submit a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) that is satisfactory to the board before starting employment.
Complete mandatory training modules with the board prior to your first day.
