Join Simcoe County District School Board as a Long-Term Occasional English Teacher this Semester
1. This role emphasizes instruction, assessment, and classroom management in a collaborative setting.
The LTO English Teacher will engage students in an Intermediate/Senior English curriculum. You will be responsible for creating lesson plans, tracking pupil progress, and assisting the principal in maintaining community relationships. A commitment to diversity and inclusion is vital in fostering a positive classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and execute lesson plans for English
• Report on pupil progress to the principal
• Manage classroom and prepare for each lesson
• Participate in discussions with parents or guardians
• Implement safety protocols in the classroom
Requirements:
• Ontario teaching certification for Intermediate/Senior levels
• Proven experience in educational settings
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of equitable hiring practices
• Willingness to undergo background checks
