Digital Safety Learning Resource Development – OSSTF Teacher

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is accepting applications for two positions – each a 40‑hour role – to develop digital safety learning resources as part of the Digital Safety Learning Resource Development Team.

These resources will address the Ministry of Education (MOE) Policy/Program Memorandums (PPM) 128 and 145, and the SCDSB Administrative Procedures Memorandums (APM) A7630, A7635, A1460, as well as the Police/School Board Protocol. The goal is to create comprehensive, curriculum‑aligned lessons for both elementary and secondary classrooms.

Rate of pay: $51.95 per hour . Each contract is 40 hours of virtual or in‑person development time. All lessons and resources must be completed by August 7, 2026 .

Key Competencies of the Successful Applicant

  • Knowledge of the SCDSB Digital Safety and Citizenship classroom resources, approved third‑party applications, and AI guiding documents.
  • Familiarity with School Mental Health Resources, including the Introduction to MHLIT course for educators and the Wayfinder scope and sequence of Mental Health Literacy.
  • Holding an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification.
  • Experience vetting resources that support teaching and learning of digital safety, citizenship, and wellness.
  • Ability to design curriculum‑supported lessons and resources that promote safe, responsible, and positive digital habits.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of using technology to develop learning materials.

Major Responsibilities

  • Engage with evidence‑based, Ministry‑approved materials to create lessons and resources that establish a foundation for digital safety instruction across elementary and secondary classrooms.
  • Develop a series of classroom‑ready, grade‑appropriate lessons and resources aligned with the Ontario curriculum that promote safe, responsible, and ethical online behaviours related to security, privacy, and digital safety.
  • Organize and format lesson plans and instructional resources to ensure accessibility and consistency as part of the Digital Safety & Citizenship page on the Staff website.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.
