Make a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities at LDAYS Summer Camps in Barrie. This volunteer role focuses on enhancing social skills and fostering friendships among youth.
LDAYS invites dedicated volunteers to assist in dynamic six-week sessions aimed at building social skills for youth aged 8-12.
Your role includes supporting the Program Coordinator, facilitating engaging activities, and guiding discussions that boost confidence and self-esteem. Each session runs weekly, and your commitment contributes significantly to creating a supportive environment for youth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in delivering planned activities and lesson outcomes
• Facilitate sports, games, and artistic projects
• Encourage positive social interactions among participants
• Develop confidence-building strategies within the group
• Monitor participants’ social progress and development
Requirements:
• Educational background in Recreation, Social Work, or similar
• Experience with children in camps or similar settings
•
Required:
Transportation access and Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Strong organization and communication abilities
• Minimum age of 16 years
