Join LDAYS in Barrie, Ontario, to assist youth with learning disabilities in building essential social skills at engaging Summer Camps.
Your role will be pivotal in enhancing participants' self-esteem and friendships.
The Learning Disabilities Association of York-Simcoe (LDAYS) is looking for volunteers for a rewarding six-week program focused on supporting children aged 8-12. You'll work alongside the Program Coordinator to deliver activities that promote confidence and social connections, contributing to a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Camps run Monday to Friday, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive support for program objectives
• Facilitate activities like sports, drama, and arts
• Encourage the development of social skills strategies
• Foster an inclusive and positive environment for all
• Be actively involved in monitoring participant development
Requirements:
• Educational qualifications in relevant fields like Child Development
• Preferably have experience supporting children with disabilities
• Must have transportation and complete Vulnerable Sector screening
• Strong organizational skills and communication
• Minimum age requirement of 16 years
