Position: Special Needs Educational Assistant Role

Support students with Special Needs in an impactful role as an Educational Assistant. Work closely within a team to foster independence and unique talents in students facing physical and intellectual challenges.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant to work 33.83 hours per week. In this position, you will provide academic, physical, and emotional support to students with exceptional needs. With a focus on encouraging independence, you will play a crucial role in the development of each student's unique abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support for students with physical and intellectual disabilities

• Foster emotional well-being and personal development in students

• Collaborate effectively as a member of the educational team

• Implement behavior management strategies as needed

• Encourage development of students' unique talents

Requirements:

• 2-3 years experience with Special Needs students

• Relevant training in Behaviour Management Systems

• College Diploma or University Degree in a related field

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with children

• Ability to submit a satisfactory Criminal Background Check
