Support students with unique challenges as an Educational Assistant at Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. This role focuses on providing crucial academic and emotional support within a collaborative school setting.
The Educational Assistant will work 33.83 hours per week, primarily supporting students with physical and intellectual disabilities, and those facing emotional or behavioral difficulties. A background in relevant training is essential, along with experience in team settings to enhance student independence and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide academic support tailored to student needs
• Assist with physical and emotional challenges of students
• Foster student independence through strong mentorship
• Collaborate with school team on best practices
• Advocate for inclusive educational practices
Requirements:
• 2 - 3 years experience with Special Needs students
• College Diploma or University Degree in related field
• Relevant training in Behavior Management Systems
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with children
• Team-oriented with a proven ability to collaborate
