Education Assistant

Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a Full-time (1.0 FTE) Education Assistant at Rich Valley School.

• Working with students one-on-one & in small groups in a classroom setting

• Educational Assistant Certificate (desirable)

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
• Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school
• Understand and carry out oral and written direction
• Work independently with minimal instruction
• Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
• Respect confidentiality
• Practice professionalism with all RVS School students, staff, administration, parents and public
• Are aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures
• Have an understanding of the teaching/learning process
• Have strong interpersonal skills and patience
• Enjoys working in a team environment

• 30 hours per week— 6 hours per day/5 days per week

• $21.05/hour - $30.54/hour depending on qualifications and experience
