Join the Simcoe County District School Board as a full-time Educational Assistant, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This rewarding permanent role requires a dedication of two years and offers a collaborative work environment.
In this Educational Assistant role, you will facilitate student learning and assist in a variety of settings. You will work directly with diverse students, providing assistance in academics and daily living skills. The position is physically demanding, requiring tasks such as lifting and providing toileting assistance, while being a part of a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enhance student learning and behavior management
• Provide physical support, including lifting and toileting
• Implement and monitor behavior management plans
• Engage with students across various grade levels
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integration
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education in human services
• Required experience with students with Autism
• Completion of BMS training essential
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Commitment to creating inclusive environments
