Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) – Building Systems
Locations: Kitchener, London, Kingston, Guelph, Barrie, Collingwood (Ontario)

We are working confidentially with several highly reputable consulting engineering firms that are actively seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers (P.Eng.) to join their growing building systems teams across multiple Ontario locations.
These opportunities suit experienced professionals who enjoy technical leadership, client interaction, and contributing to complex, high-quality building projects within a collaborative consulting environment.
The OpportunityAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, and oversight of mechanical building systems across a range of sectors, including commercial, institutional, industrial, and municipal projects. Depending on experience and interest, the role may also include mentorship of junior staff, project management, and involvement in business development activities.
There is flexibility across locations, with some firms offering long-term opportunities to collaborate with GTA-based teams as projects and portfolios evolve.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to the design of mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, building automation)
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, architects, and clients
- Conduct site reviews, condition assessments, and construction support
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Support project delivery, schedules, and budgets
- Contribute to client relationships and proposal efforts as appropriate
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Typically 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code and applicable standards (ASHRAE, CSA, NFPA)
- Experience delivering building mechanical systems from concept through construction
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with AutoCAD required;
Revit experience considered an asset - Exposure to energy efficiency, decarbonization, or retrofit projects is an asset
