About the Role
We have an immediate need for an Assembly and Test Planner to join the Assembly and Test Department at Raytheon ELCAN. In this role, you will play a key part in defining, implementing and maintaining the assembly and test processes required to meet world‑class optical product capabilities.
What You Will Do- Read and interpret technical data packages, specifications, models and drawings for optical assemblies
- Optical system testing (MTF, line of sight, transmission, encircled energy, etc.)
- Cost estimating including process times, materials, and engineering effort to meet customer requirements
- Define, design, source, and commission fixtures, tools, and equipment for realizing product assembly & test specifications
- Produce detailed documentation of assembly processes and train operators on new projects
- Create ERP routings for production assemblies
- Support assembly operations with strong analytical, root cause and corrective action, and continuous improvement skills with a view to reduction of assembly touch time
- Identify process automation opportunities, perform ROI assessment on identified change, implement change along with associated members of the broader engineering group
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering Physics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace or Optical Engineering, Physics or related fields
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in a manufacturing technical support role
- Strong competency with MS Office
- Strong technical writing ability and communication skills
- Adaptable, innovative and problem solver
- Experience in opto‑mechanical assembly alignment methods, and ISO optical testing methods such as ISO 14490
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modelling (Autodesk Inventor or equivalent) and Blueprint reading including GD&T
- Experience producing cost estimates and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of quality management systems: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC
- Familiarity with the design of experiments (DOE)

Salary range: 65,000
CAD – 107,800
