Rosemont, Ontario Seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to own the execution of industrial automation projects, from single-robot work cells to complex, multi-robot assembly and welding systems, for a growing integration company.
This role owns projects from kickoff through customer acceptance, delivering on scope, schedule, budget, and quality while building strong, long-term customer relationships. It is ideal for someone technically fluent and confident leading cross-functional teams and challenging technical decisions when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Own project scope, schedule, budget, and risk from order intake through final buyoff
- Manage multiple automation projects of varying size and complexity at the same time
- Lead quoting, process planning, detailed schedules, resource plans, and cost tracking
- Lead kickoffs, design reviews, internal milestones, and customer reviews
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead meetings with team leads and question technical decisions across controls and programming
- Oversee commissioning and validation, and delegate site tasks to junior staff
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across mechanical design, controls, tooling, manufacturing, and installation
- Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and commercial risks
- 5+ years in project management, or 4+ years specifically in automotive/automation
- Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- PMP or equivalent project management certification an asset
- Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Solid grasp of PLC/robot programming, tooling design, and controls integration (literacy required, hands-on not required)
- G2/G class driver's license
