We're looking for an Electrical Drafter/Designer to join our Barrie team. You'll work with engineers and project managers to turn electrical designs into clear plans, drawings and specifications, from early design through construction. Most of your time is spent on design work at your computer, with site visits on your own or with the team.
What You'll Do- Produce detailed electrical design documents with engineers, project managers and others, before and throughout construction
- Create plans, drawings and specifications that meet Gerrits design principles, client requirements and relevant codes and standards
- Take direction from the Design Manager and/or Engineer, and help the team meet project milestones
- Perform engineering calculations
- Complete site visits independently or with team members
- Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology
- 2-4 years of experience in a drafting or design role
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, AGi
32, ETAP, and Microsoft Suite - Understanding of relevant industry codes and standards and municipal by-laws
- Experience and exposure to building systems, power distribution, lighting, and fire alarms
- Work alongside Professional Engineers, Engineering Interns, Designers and Drafters
- 37.5-hour work week and a hybrid work arrangement
