Financial Controller
About the Role
The Controller will take a proactive and collaborative approach to managing the organization’s financial health. This position is accountable for protecting company assets, maintaining sound financial governance, and providing oversight of all accounting and reporting activities across the group of businesses.
Base Pay RangeCA $80,000.00/yr - CA$/yr

- Protect the organization’s financial integrity by designing, enhancing, and monitoring strong internal control systems across all business entities.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. Manage financial planning processes, including variance analysis, cash flow oversight, debt management, and banking relationships.
- Ensure all financial reporting is completed within established timelines, enabling the leadership team to make informed, data‑driven decisions.
- Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, billing, general ledger, inventory, and related processes.
- Maintain full compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal financial regulations, along with any banking or external reporting obligations.
- Actively contribute to the leadership team by providing strategic financial insights and supporting the achievement of organizational goals.
- Guide and develop the finance team through coaching, setting clear expectations, and offering constructive performance feedback.
- Support the implementation, integration, and optimization of ERP systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead all external and internal audit activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion of audit requirements.
- Holds a recognized accounting designation (CPA — CA, CMA, or CGA) along with a relevant post‑secondary degree.
- Brings a minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong background in inventory costing and analysis.
- Experienced in using ERP systems such as SAP, with the adaptability to quickly master new financial technologies.
- Demonstrates advanced analytical capabilities and the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial and operational data clearly.
- Proactive in applying technology and automation to enhance reporting accuracy and streamline accounting processes.
- Well‑versed in current accounting principles, policies, and emerging best practices.
- Knowledgeable in the design and maintenance of internal controls to support accurate and compliant financial reporting.
