Join the City of Barrie's Waste Management team as an Environmental Officer. This temporary, full-time position offers a chance to impact sustainability efforts while operating within a collaborative hybrid work arrangement.
In this role, you’ll support environmental compliance and monitoring to safeguard Barrie's ecological health. A College Diploma in Environmental Technology and prior experience are essential for enforcing environmental regulations, collecting samples, and engaging in effective public outreach. Your work will also include managing compliance inspections in diverse urban settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform field monitoring for environmental assessments
• Conduct inspections of waste management operations
• Uphold Sewer Use By-law and compliance directives
• Participate in rapid response to environmental spills
• Keep meticulous records for enforcement purposes
Requirements:
• College Diploma in Environmental Technology
• Minimum one year of relevant experience
