Position: Property Standards Officer Role

The City of Barrie is looking for a dedicated Property Standards Officer to participate in municipal property maintenance and enforcement of by-laws. You will perform inspections, confirm compliance, and address property-related complaints. Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections on residential and commercial properties

• Enforce compliance with local property standards by-laws

• Investigate alleged by-law violations thoroughly

• Collaborate with local departments on enforcement practices

• Prepare documentation to support court actions when needed

Requirements:

• Two years of post-secondary education in enforcement or related field

• Three years of inspection experience is required

• CPSO Basic Course completion is mandatory

• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence is essential

• Competency in Microsoft Office and inspection software
