ONE KIDS PLACE Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, and supervised by a Registered Behaviour Analyst, the Behaviour Therapist is a member of the clinical team providing clinical service delivery to children within the Autism and Behaviour Services Program at One Kids Place. This is a regional program providing services to children diagnosed with Autism.
JOB DUTIESClinical Services
- 1. Develops individualized service plans including goals with reliable tracking processes for referred clients.
- 2. Implements and monitors the individualized service plan for each child and youth with autism, in accordance with Agency requirements, standards and provincial guidelines.
- 3. Conducts behavioural and/or environmental assessments and develops data collection and data analysis procedures.
- 4. Works with families/caregivers to effectively implement behaviour management programming through individualized or group training and/or coaching.
- 5. Develops and implements skill based training to build capacity in the client, in the family and other professionals in the following areas:
- - Communication;
- - Daily Living;
- - Social/Interpersonal; and/or
- - Behavioural/Emotional Regulation.
- 6. Provides information and training on behaviour/emotional regulation, family supports and coping strategies.
- 7. Facilitates referrals to other services as appropriate
- 8. Achieves standards/benchmarks and performance indicators set by the program manager.
- 9. Implements policies/procedures to ensure clinical practices meet or exceed guidelines set by the Regulated Colleges of all disciplines and One Kids Place
- 10. Ensures that program specific services are consistent with the provisions of the Child and Family Services Act, policies, Regulated Health Colleges and procedures of the agency and relevant accreditation standards
- 11. Ensures compliance with service documentation and reporting procedures as outlined in the contract for the delivery of the specific services assigned
- 12. Ensures program development, clinical practice and clinical service philosophy is consistent with the vision, mission and values of One Kids Place
Community Networking
- 1. Establishes effective working relationships with community stakeholders to ensure integrated/seamless service delivery, and service delivery planning
- 2. Participates on assigned District, Regional and Provincial Committees/Work groups as required
Leadership
- 1. Delivers training modules for staff across the North east Region.
- 2. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply relevant legislation (e.g., Child and Family Services Act, Human Rights, Health and Safety, and PHIPPA)
- 3. Works within a positive team culture

QUALIFICATIONS- Successful completion of a BA or Diploma program in Behavioural Sciences and/or Human Services ie (BA Psychology; College Diploma ie Autism & Behavioural Services; Early Childhood Education; Child & Youth Worker) along with relevant working experience in behavioural intervention for children with autism
- Evidence of minimum of three (3) years experience in programs serving children with autism
- Proven knowledge and understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis and effective interventions related to children and youth with autism obtained by training and/or extensive experience of specialization in working in various capacities with this population
- Proven practical experience in delivering ongoing behavioural assessments, devising behavioural interventions and analyzing data
- Proficient in the implementation of intervention services in order to engage and effectively attend to the complex and diverse needs of the client.
