THEOPPORTUNITY
The OR Scheduler works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that Surgical Suite procedures are appropriately and accurately booked. The OR Scheduler coordinates the scheduling and admissions of Operating Room procedures and Pre-Operative Clinic booking functions, facilitates communication and completes the clerical duties essential to the functioning of the Surgical Suite.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES
- Scheduling of OR and Pre-Admission Clinic bookings
- Record all registration data into computerized CWS/ORM system as prescribed, including all information required for patient accounting purposes.
- Ensure patients receive pre-operative admission package and process information
- Assemble and maintain the client record from pre-operative clinic, admission to discharge or transfer.
- Collect, complete and distribute Operating Room Statistics, as well as utilization data
- Responsible for registration of individuals for the WTIS and maintaining registrant information and access.
- Point of contact for coordinating and disseminating ATC communications and issues as the Surgical WTIS Coordinator as well as being responsible for fielding issues, ensuring data quality processes are followed and that data is of the highest quality.
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experiences and key competencies:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Medical Terminology certificate
- Meditech Experience
- Two years’ experience in a similar capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to relate to a variety of different personalities
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated initiative, high degree of accuracy and ability to prioritize and function effectively in a busy environment
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
- Experience with Meditech Expanse.
- Experience working in a Diagnostic Imaging or Laboratory Department.
- Bilingual - English and French
- College diploma in Medical Office Admin or equivalent
- Previous experience in an electronic scheduling system
- OR/Pre-admission Clinic scheduling knowledge

- Hourly rate of pay $26.53 to $29.20,with an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation to start
