THE OPPORTUNITYReporting to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the MRI Technologist plays a critical role in performing and optimizing MRI procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of the hospital while supporting accurate and efficient diagnostic imaging workflows. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and integration of MRI services across our facility, ensuring that all departments are adequately supported with accurate and timely diagnostic images.
You will work as part of a skilled healthcare team, ensuring seamless departmental operations while adhering to the highest safety standards. KEYACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform MRI scans using our brand-new MRI machine, following physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate MRI equipment and adjust settings to obtain optimal images.
- Review and evaluate images for quality and diagnostic purposes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols, including patient screening for contraindications.
- Provide patient education regarding MRI procedures and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to discuss findings and follow-up actions.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in MRI technology and techniques.
- Participates in scheduled Internal and External Audits.
- Assists with the training of new staff members.
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
- Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
- Certification in MRI from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of MRI equipment and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Commitment to patient care and safety.
- Expertise in operating MRI equipment and understanding imaging protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Commitment to continuing education and performing mandatory reviews
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Bilingual in English and French
