Full‑Time. Hours Per Week: 35. Pay Range: $47.13 – $54.48 per hour (4‑year rate). Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure.
Location:
Barrie, Ontario.
- Provide technical design, implementation, and support services on a college‑wide LAN, WAN, Internet edge, and cloud network infrastructure that is managed and maintained centrally.
- Enable and support information technology systems for academic and administrative services, including telephone and data communications.
- Research, test, plan, and deploy new installations, modifications, and repairs.
- Install, maintain, support, and administer hardware and software systems used for the college’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, and NAC solutions.
- Design and deploy systems constrained by compliance standards such as PCI and Georgian procedures.
- Provide resolutions and final level support for issues escalated from front‑line support.
- Research solutions, diagnose problems, and design or modify systems as necessary, developing new solutions when needed.
- Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot telephony systems, including phone, conferencing, and video services.
- Design networking connectivity and support of network operations in the cloud.
- Design, configure, and deploy UPS for the main campus and all remote campuses.
- Maintain current specialized knowledge of computer and communication hardware and software.
- Conduct presentations and training sessions for staff, students, and colleagues.
- Implement NAC solutions (Clear Pass) and architect and implement network security solutions (SIEM and Next‑Gen Firewalls).
- Successfully completed a three‑year postsecondary diploma/degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or another relevant field.
- CCNP Cisco Certified Network Professional (Routing and Switching / Enterprise Infrastructure). A minimum of five years of IT experience with designing, architecting, and deploying a robust, redundant, high‑availability network infrastructure.
- Experience with networking technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Strong understanding of the OSI reference model.
- All employees are required to permanently reside in the province of Ontario.
- The position is currently eligible for Hybrid Work. Flex Work agreements will be determined by the employee and manager upon employment commencement.
