Position: Temporary ASL-English Interpreter Needed

Join the Simcoe County District School Board as a Temporary ASL-English Interpreter. This critical role provides interpreting services for a student, either full-time or part-time.

The Simcoe County District School Board is hiring an American Sign Language (ASL) - English Interpreter at Bayview PS in Midland. Candidates must hold an Honours Bachelor of Interpreting Degree and have at least six months of relevant experience. Fluency in ASL and English is essential for effective communication in various educational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret lectures, field trips, and educational activities

• Collaborate with Principal and Special Education staff

• Prepare student informational materials as needed

• Participate in scheduled meetings after hours

• Perform additional duties as directed

Requirements:

• Honours Bachelor of Interpreting or related Diploma

• At least six months experience in interpreting

• Recent ASLPI level 4 certification or higher

• Proven fluency in American Sign Language and English

• Skill level proof required if not graduated
