The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for Summer Public Works Labourer(s). This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to keeping our community clean and beautiful.
Position Overview- Collecting roadside and beachfront litter
- Emptying garbage and recycling bins
- Inspecting storm catch basins, outlets, ponds, and trail systems
- Assisting with tree and brush clean-up
- Painting fire hydrants, sewer stacks, sign posts, and building structures
- Supporting beachfront clean-up and municipal road maintenance
- Performing other Public Works-related duties as assigned
- Preference given to students enrolled full-time in secondary or post-secondary programs for the next academic year
- Strong public relations and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Physically capable of performing manual labour, including heavy lifting and working in all weather conditions
- Experience in road maintenance and use of hand tools is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an asset
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with initiative and a great attitude
- Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check and driver’s abstract upon hire

$17.85 - $19.31; 40 hours/week
