Rock Tools Technician

Rock Tools Technician at Sandvik is an entry-level position located in Rainy River, ON. The role supports rock tools contracts by providing guidance on correct tool usage, managing inventory, and distributing products. This is a "no experience necessary" role that offers a pathway into the mining industry.

• Manage rock tools inventory and track new issues, discards, and losses.
• Repair and maintain rock tools to defined specifications.
• Deliver rock tools products to customers.
• Use the Rock Tools Management System to monitor and report on tool performance.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical recommendations and improvements to the Supervisor and Sandvik Sales and Service Representatives.
• Report occurrences that may indicate improper usage or selection by operators.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, and failure reports.
• Build relationships with the rock tools team and internal/external customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform daily and weekly stock counts.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

• Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations or requirements.
• Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, or near misses; perform risk assessments before tasks.
• Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation.
• Maintain an orderly work area and meet housekeeping requirements.
• Attend environmental, health, and safety related trainings.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.

• Completion of Secondary School (High school).
• Knowledge or experience with industry-specific equipment (mining or construction) is an asset.
• Previous knowledge or experience with Sandvik products is an asset.
• Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
• Detail-oriented.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
• Ability to work with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• Full G valid driver’s license in good standing is required.
• Common Core consideration as an asset.
• Willingness to work varied shifts as required.
