Position: Refrigeration Technician  | $20-$25/hour (2025-12-24)

Our client, a leading manufacturer of precision-controlled environments, is looking to add a Refrigeration Technician Apprentice / General Labourer to their growing team in Barrie, Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive hourly pay and excellent benefits. If you have mechanical aptitude or are enrolled in a Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technician program, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a specialized industry.

Shift: Straight days, Monday to Friday
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)

What You’ll Do
  • Assemble refrigeration components for pre-packaged cooling and heating units.
  • Braze, pressure-test, and verify refrigeration joints.
  • Wire medium- and low-voltage systems following standard diagrams.
  • Evacuate and charge units, then run performance tests.
  • Safely handle and store refrigerants in compliance with regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration issues to meet manufacturing specs.
  • Perform quality inspections and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with inventory management and labeling for traceability.
  • Crate and package equipment for shipment.
  • Support senior refrigeration technicians and other team members as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Forklift operation skills (or willingness to train).
  • Enrollment in or completion of a Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technician program preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
