Skilled Plate Fabricator Day Shift

Position: Skilled Plate Fabricator on Day Shift
Metalworks seeks a Skilled Plate Fabricator/Fitter for its day shift, working from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. You will work with heavy steel plates, ensuring accuracy in fabrication and assembly tasks.

In this role, the Plate Fabricator/Fitter will be responsible for reading blueprints and effectively carrying out assembly tasks based on detailed drawings. Candidates should possess 3-5+ years of relevant machining experience and be proficient in operating tools and machines in steel fabrication. A strong focus on safety and cleanliness is essential for maintaining a productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints and plan assembly tasks

• Fabricate and fit metal sections together

• Transport and sort raw materials and products

• Grind and deburr edges of metal components

• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of experience in steel fabrication

• Knowledge of steel machining tools and safety

• CWB certification is advantageous

• Red Seal Fitter or Welder preferred

• Experience with overhead cranes and rigging is an asset
