Filling Operator - Afternoon shift
Your Role at Baxter
As a Filling Operator at Baxter, you will work permanent full‑time on the Afternoon shift (Monday to Friday 15:00h‑23:00h EST) at our Alliston facility. Your responsibilities include ensuring high‑quality, life‑saving products are prepared and delivered on time.
Shift and CompensationWe offer a salary of $26.55 an hour, with a potential shift premium for eligible hours. You will also receive an Employee Stock Purchasing Plan, a defined contribution pension plan, and medical/dental benefits starting on your first day.
Key Responsibilities- Perform visual inspection of IV bag assemblies.
- Fill IV solutions in various bag sizes, ensuring proper volume.
- Place bags into protective over‑wrap and load them onto sterilizer trays.
- Weigh filled bags using scales at regular intervals.
- Inspect each filled bag for correct volume, air volume, code number, expiration date, lot number, and other quality characteristics.
- Load over‑wrapped bags into the sealing machine and onto sterilizer trucks.
- Conduct necessary inspections and quality checks at each step.
- Document the count of rejects and rework bags when necessary.
- Learn, understand, and apply thorough quality standards, SOPs, and cGMP.
- Notify your supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical, or discrepancy issues occur.
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
- Safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, isolation mask, and boots. Additional PPE required when cleaning.
- Ability to work around equipment, machinery, belts, and tolerate constant or intermittent exposure to elevated noise levels.
- Must pass an ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform essential job duties.
- High school diploma or GED (Proof required).
- Experience in repetitive tasks.
- Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment.
- Experience in the food or manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience working in a fast‑paced environment; experience on an assembly line is preferred.
- Flexibility to work weekends.
- Positive attitude, teamwork, focus on quality assurance, and attention to detail.
