Lead Hand, Filling - Weekend Night shift

Summary of Responsibilities

Lead Hand – part‑time permanent position on the Weekend Night Shift (Friday to Sunday 23:00‑11:00, Saturday to Sunday 23:00‑11:00 & Sunday 19:00‑23:00) at the Alliston facility.

• Coordinate the operation of the Viaflex Filling department, including creating rotation schedules, communicating with Supervisors, Mixers and team members on possible delays, and coordinating materials from the warehouse.
• Monitor equipment performance and perform adjustments and repairs as required.
• Escalate safety, quality, and production issues; execute initial quality investigations and safety reports.
• Ensure all SOPs, GMPs, and safety rules are followed.
• Maintain completeness and accuracy of E  tasks for FOB/EOB and ensure tasks are approved.
• Prepare for batch and line set‑up.
• Oversee cleaning and sanitization.
• Train operators and provide feedback to Supervisors.
• Assist in scrap and cost‑reduction projects.
• Perform Filling, MH, QA/RK duties as needed.
• Support EMS implementation, maintain the department in 6S condition, and participate in the IDEAS program.

• High School diploma or GED (proof required).
• Experience with in a manufacturing operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability.
• Practical experience using Lean tools (6S, LSW, VM, DA, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• 3 – 5 years of manufacturing experience.
• People coaching and team development skills.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent time‑management skills in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; proficiency in Infinity, E , and AS400/Kronos.
• Good working knowledge of SOPs/specs, blueprints, PCSs, and BOMs.
• Experience troubleshooting automated equipment.
• Leadership skills.
• Excellent attendance record.

This position has a pay rate of $36.10 per hour, with potential shift premium for eligible hours. Shift premium pay is subject to change and is at the sole discretion of the company.
